The town of Norfolk contains just over 1,600 residents, but one of its former residents designed at least 45 sites in the small town, most of which are on the National Register of Historic Places. Now, the designer’s Norfolk home is up for sale.
Listed for $1.745 million, the Swiss chateau-style home on 205 Litchfield Road was designed by local architect Alfredo Taylor. Taylor attended Harvard College and later the School of Architecture at Columbia University and Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris following his marriage to Amelia Scranton in 1896.
