One Westport home for sale has views of several of the town’s most notable geographical features.
Listed for $2.6 million, the home on 21 Grove Point Road is accessible by a private road that overlooks part of the Aspetuck Land Trust, according to the listing. The Aspetuck Land Trust has land preservation areas in Westport, Fairfield, Weston and Easton, and the Grove Point home overlooks the Allen Salt Marsh preserve, which was donated to the Land Trust in 1984, according to Aspetuck Land Trust. The marsh is named after Walter “Cap” Allen, an operator of a clam and oyster shack on Mill Pond in the early 1900s, and the land was donated by relatives of Captain Allen, the Land Trust notes. An additional half-acre of land was added to the marsh following a donation in 1989.
