Fletcher Place Historic District, one of Indiana’s oldest urban neighborhoods, was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1982. This house is just outside the boundaries of the official historic district, where streets are lined with Italianate, Queen Anne and Gothic Revival homes built in the 1870s and 1880s. Nearby Virginia Avenue is a nightlife destination, with gastro pubs, an arcade-themed bar and a craft spirits distillery. The corporate offices and laboratories of Eli Lilly and Company are a five-minute drive; downtown Indianapolis is 10 minutes away.

The Clifton neighborhood in Cincinnati is popular with buyers who want more space without sacrificing easy access to city amenities. Many of the streets are lighted by original gas lamps and homes date to the 1920s and 1930s, giving the area a quaint feeling. A number of businesses are within walking distance, including a record store, a historic movie theater, a grocery store and several live music and entertainment venues. Burnet Woods, a 90-acre park with a lake for fishing and spots for picnicking, is about a mile away. Directly south of the park is the main campus of the University of Cincinnati, making the area convenient for university employees and students.
