An Arlington residential community is getting a second apartment project.

StreetLights Residential has broken ground on a 343-unit rental community in the Viridian development off North Collins Street.

The developer of the 2,000-acre Viridian community recently completed its first apartment project, called The Jackson.

“The increase in demand for boutique-style luxury living in the area is what inspired our first development, and those same thoughtful details will be featured in the second phase,” StreetLights’ vice president of development, Greg Coutant, said in a statement. “Leasing continues to be strong in The Jackson, and we are eager to have our next phase underway in Viridian.”

The new apartments will range from 588 to 1,674 square feet. The rental community will include a pool courtyard with lounge, co-working spaces, a conference room, a studio for art classes, a fitness center, a golf simulator and a pet park and pet spa.

SLR Construction LLC is the general contractor for the project.

StreetLights Residential’s first, 340-unit apartment community in Viridian has units starting at more than $1,000 a month.

Viridian was started in 2008 and includes hundreds of new homes.

StreetLights Residential is a decade-old development firm that has built more than 13,000 apartments in six states.
