Drive down Swiss Avenue in East Dallas and you’ll find a wealth of historic homes with stately facades and expertly maintained details. This home, at 5105 Swiss Ave., is one of the larger properties on the street, said listing agent Sharon Quist of Dave Perry-Miller Real Estate.

She’s sold the home three times over the years, and she’s well-acquainted with its features: multiple gardens in the manicured backyard, and four livable levels in the main house.

“It’s like one of the grand dames of Swiss Avenue, no question about it,” Quist said.

The home has four bedrooms, six bathrooms and two half-bathrooms in its 6,262 square feet. The home has three levels, plus a basement that isn’t counted in the square footage. Outside, there is a guest quarters and cabana, as well.

Quist said the home has tall ceilings throughout, and plenty of light fills the space. On the first level, both the living room and family room have fireplaces, and the nearby solarium has a wet bar and slate floors that were repurposed from the front walk of the home. A covered patio at the back of the house offers views of the manicured backyard, pool and multiple gardens.

Upstairs, all of the bedrooms are on the second level along with two offices, a laundry room and a sitting area. The primary suite has two bathrooms in a his-and-her style, a wet bar and a walk-in closet. There’s an open balcony on this level, as well.

A media room, with theater-style seating, a wet bar and a full bathroom, sits on the third level. The basement is currently used as an exercise room and also houses mechanical storage, adding an additional 466 square feet to the home.

A separate two-story structure in the backyard acts as a garage and cabana, with a guest quarters on the second level. The second floor houses a kitchen, living and dining rooms, a bedroom and bathroom.

The home has multiple gardens, paved entertainment areas, a pool, an outdoor kitchen, a children’s play area and a mosquito misting system in the yard.

This Italian-influenced home is on the market for $2,295,000.
